About this gaming cafe

177 words · editorial

The OU Esports & Gaming Complex sits in the Cross building on 4th Street, on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman, 31 km south of central Oklahoma City. Who may play depends on the day. Monday to Friday the venue states it is open only to OU students, staff and campus partners; on Saturday and Sunday it is open to the public.

The room runs 15 PCs on RTX 4070 Ti cards with Intel i7-13700KF processors and 165Hz monitors, plus three free workstations meant for study rather than play. Beyond the PCs there are four console setups with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch, retro emulation reaching back to the Atari, two Meta Quest 2 headsets and one racing rig on Moza hardware with a 40-inch ultrawide.

OU students play free. Everyone else pays $4 an hour.

Doors are 17:00 to 23:00 Monday to Thursday, 17:00 to midnight on Friday, 14:00 to midnight on Saturday and 14:00 to 20:00 on Sunday. For anyone outside the university only the last two lines apply.

The rating is 5.0 from 4 Google reviews - too few to read much into.
