Pay-as-you-go time is paid for in person at the Esports Helpdesk.
About this esports centre
215 words · editorialThe Warwick Esports Centre is in the Rootes Social Building on the University of Warwick campus, south-west of Coventry. The floor holds 24 machines on AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processors with 400Hz monitors — the fastest refresh rate of any UK venue on this list — alongside console stations, a Nintendo Switch area and racing simulators.
It is a campus arena that does not behave like one. Asked on its own hire page whether being on campus makes it students-only, the centre answers that it is open to everyone and that no university affiliation is needed to book. It takes private companies, outside esports teams, community groups and birthday parties.
PC time is £4 an hour, the lowest published rate in the UK on this list, paid in person at the Esports Helpdesk. Everyone pays the same — there is no separate student column. Consoles, the Switch and the racing simulator are priced on their own, and blocks of ten and forty hours bring the hourly cost down.
Term-time hours are 16:00 to 22:00 from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday closed. The centre follows the university calendar and shuts for the summer; in 2026 that ran from 5 July to 27 September. Its Google listing still carried the closure label after term restarted, so trust the university's own opening times page over the map pin.
