About this arena
161 words · editorialFortress Melbourne runs across two levels under the Emporium on Caledonian Lane, and the arena is the part that makes it an esports venue rather than a games bar: it seats 204, stands 400, and faces a ten-metre LED screen.
The gaming floor is 54 PCs and two streamer pods, with RTX cards and a headset at every station. Time is sold as passes rather than by the hour — A$24 for two hours, A$36 for three with a bonus hour on top, up to A$60 for five with two bonus hours. Alongside the PCs are console booths, a tavern restaurant, two bars and tabletop space.
The arena is used more for watching than for competing. Fortress screens esports finals on the big screen — First Stand, MSI and Worlds among them — along with Formula 1, the FIFA World Cup, film screenings and game launches, and the room is booked out for private events.
It is the most-reviewed venue on our Australian list, with 2,810 Google reviews at 4.7.
